Project Background

Ionis Pharmaceutical is a leading innovator in RNA-targeted therapeutics. Using the rapidly growing research discipline known as Translational Medicine, Ionis aims to expedite the discovery of new diagnostic tools and treatments by using a multi-disciplinary, highly collaborative, "bench-to-bedside" approach.

Internal processes to manage TM data are time consuming and require manual curation to validate the most recent updates about target milestones and status; with data coming from multiple Excel files.

In order to scale efficiently and be able to answer critical business questions related to Translational Medicine target progress, Ionis and Slalom Consulting undertook an effort to automate the synchronization of these sources into a consolidated data set that can be used in conjunction with a new TM Hub web portal to display and securely manage the latest information.
